Thanks to Blogger.com I now have a gmail account. Sure many of you say, so what. I say 1GB of storage. The search based, no folder approach to email is different, but I like it. It will be interesting in a few months as I use the service. As far as Google scanning through emails for advertising, I don't see it as a big deal. Did you ever think email was a secure medium? This company doesn't really care what you are sending, they just want to be able to advertise their providers services. It is a bold, very good (in my opinion) method toward email. The best part of all is that it is FREE. It just amazes me how people love to bitch about how unfair free services are. Like it is a right or something. As always it's simple, if you don't like it don't use it. Most of us in the world have that freedom, choice, use it.

About Me
- Name: brettski
- Location: Illinois, United States
I am a married father of two (which is enough for us) who works as a DBA, Programmer, Systems Admin, and general IT slug--Oh, and now manager too. I now live in the Northwest Chicago 'burbs; trying to get used to it after spending my life on the South (West)side. I am not big on Favorites. This profile list favorites, well there are so many things that I enjoy, I can't really pick out favorites. And once I do, there is a good chance I missed something and it's not getting the recognition it deserves.
